The New Indian Facility of Nokia Siemens
In a bid to get closer to its key customers, and also to support the spiraling growth of mobile subscribers, a new Nokia Siemens Networks facility has been founded at Oragadam near Chennai. This facility will not only manufacture but also distribute mobile communications.
Over Rs 300 crores is expected to be invested by the company into the facility and over 400 new jobs are expected to be generated. This new facility is a result of Nokia Siemens's global strategy that aims at building a responsibility centric customer focused business. The proximity of the facility to the local market will not only improve the responsiveness of the company to emerging market trends but also go a long way in the reduction of the carbon footprints that are a part of the new network deployments.
